Workers Memorial Day

Hi, please find attached a copy of the workers memorial day pamphlet for this years events in Preston and Chorley.  I will be bringing copies to the events, but they can  be circulated widely by email as well.  I haven’t included the service sheets in the pamphlets this time and will be bringing separate copies to insert for each event.

For your information the Preston event is on Saturday 25th April commencing 11.40 on the flag market with music, 12.00 speakers and rally, 12.30 march to corn exchange where we will be laying wreaths and flowers and finally back into the Black Horse for butties.  Unfortunately this year there is a clash with an event at Chorley for the NHS, but I hope that workplaces will continue to support the workers memorial event at Preston as well as supporting the NHS rally in Chorley.
The Chorley workers memorial event will take place on the Friday 24th April commencing at 5.45 at the park gates of Astley Park.
Please can you circulate widely.
with best wishes,

20th February 2015 : We are planning to hold a May Day event in Preston this year – with music, food and drink as well as an opportunity for campaigning and networking.  We are looking for support from trade union branches in Preston and South Ribble and the wider Lancashire Area.  Most important, of course, are numbers on the day (Friday, May 1st).  So, trade unionists and their friends and family will be most welcome on the night.  In terms of money, our chief expense is the £250 for the venue.  We are hoping that several small donations from branches will see us right (see attached letter for details). The organising committee will be meeting again soon and you are most welcome to join us. If you have any queries, or you know an organisation that would like to set-up a stall on the day, feel free to e-mail anytime or text in office hours.
Yours fraternally
