|22nd November 2011. The March for Pensions will take place on 30th November 2011 as unions across the region take industrial action to fight to protect workers contractual rights. The march will begin on Avenham Park at 11am and will end at the Flag Market where speakers can be heard from 12:00. We encourage everyone to join in whether you are affected by the pensions hike personally or whether you just value the services which public servants provide. Please use this flyer to raise awareness of the event.|
|28th October 2011. A North West TUC Disability Forum Event takes place on Saturday 3rd December 2011 at the Mechanics Institute in Manchester from 1-5pm. The forum aims to promote action on issues of concern for disabled trade union members. This event aims to address the effect of reducing public expenditure and public service reform for disabled people. To book a place email Kara Stevens or call 0151 236 5432 to discuss.|

|3rd July 2011. Over 400 people attended the public rally held to voice opposition to government plans to slash pensions for public sector workers. Members from ATL, NUT, PCS & UCU turned out in their hundreds after hundreds of schools and government offices were brought to a standstill through support of striking members.Photos of the event and picket lines can be seen on Flickr.|
|3rd June 2011. A public rally has been arranged to coincide with Unions taking Industrial Action against the cuts. The action is planned to take place on 30th June 2011 and a rally will be held between 12 & 1pm in Preston Town Centre on the Flag Market. Please come along and show your support.A poster is available to ask all workers to support this action against the cuts.|

8th February 2011 . The Preston Against Cuts March has been agreed with Lancashire Constabulary and will take place on Saturday 12th February.
Meet Preston Flag Market 12:00. Bring all of your family and tell all of your friends. This is your chance to tell Preston City Council and local media how you feel about the cuts which will have a devastating impact on local services.
